Stubb : Green Lung : Mountains - Black Heart.jpg

HAIL SANTA, WORSHIP YULE

We're already feeling festive at the Black Heart, possibly because of the amount of large, heavily bearded men on this bill. Join us on Thursday 14th December for a night of riffs that will rattle your baubles and shake the tinsel from your tree. Let's get fucking jolly.

The power trios of the late ’60s and early ’70s were the original blueprint for Stubb’s loud, hard-driving, fuzzed-up heavy rock. The current chapter has Jack Dickinson on guitar and vocals, Tom Hobson on bass and Tom Fyfe on drums.

The band entered Skyhammer studio in January 2017 to record their latest album 'Burning Moon' with Chris Fielding of Conan on engineering and production duties. A 25 minute space rock opus (part 1 of a trilogy), 'Burning Moon' sees the band pushing their sound in a new direction while staying very much true to the sound they love.

Preparations for album number three are in motion, all we can say is keep your mind and your eyes open.

GREEN LUNG

In April, Green Lung emerged from the murky undergrowth of the British countryside and stumbled into London’s burgeoning metal scene. Their debut single ‘Green Man Rising’ – released only two months after they formed – was a slab of instantly memorable heavy psych, coupling soaring melodic vocals with deft and complex riffs. The single, recorded in their practice space, saw them hailed by Ripple Music and identified as ‘ones to watch’ by The Obelisk, and the ensuing buzz secured slots with several UK heavy titans including Desert Storm and Mammoth Weed Wizard Bastard, and a short tour with Morass of Molasses, where they quickly proved to be a dynamic and magnetic live band.

Fresh from recording their debut EP with Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studios (Vodun, Ghold, Riddles) here's a chance to see one of London's most promising heavy bands before everyone else.
