Formed in late 2017, London’s Winter Hotel have created a hard-hitting, emotive brand of Alternative Metal, mixing characteristics typically found in genres like Slamming/Brutal/Death Metal with those of Post-Hardcore, Metalcore and Midwest Emo, removing the boundaries between metal’s vast spectrum of sub-genres. Drawing from human nature and real life events, all of the band’s works stem beyond music; creating a world of poetry, prose and audio that combine to tell strong narratives that dig beneath the surface of what it means to be human.

The band’s latest release 'Of Loving. In Ending' is the completing act of narrative trilogy EP 'To Burn Beneath the Spotlight'. With themes of desperation, freedom, relief, finality and closure, the track brings the story told in the opening 2 performances to a close, as the audience sits for an evening spectating decades of a life never asked for, and never desired. Accompanied by a theatric music video (brought to life by Hauscreative and premiered on Spaceuntravel) that sees the band perform in the very setting in which the story is being told, the 7 minute finale flows through an impassioned sequence of sections and events, fully showcasing every weapon that the band has gathered in their arsenal since their inception and taking note from a range of rock and metal influences throughout the track.

With an ever-increasing live presence, including recent appearances alongside Red MethodBorders and Organectomy and a festival debut at UK Tech-Fest’s Techabilitation, the band will spend 2024 taking the performance of ’To Burn Beneath The Spotlight’ for the last time, looking to cement themselves as one of the most promising up-and-comers in the UK metal scene.

"Winter Hotel is one of the most unique bands that this writer has had the pleasure of reviewing.

Their seamless blend of hardcore rhythms, harmonically-driven riffs, and death metal inspired vocals are truly a sound to behold and become enveloped in.” - Ghost Killer Entertainment
