DESERTFEST LONDON 2024 - FIRST 25 BANDS ANNOUNCED !

Desertfest London have unveiled 25 bands for their 12th edition, taking place across multiple venues in Camden next May 17th – 19th.

Following their pandemic induced cancellation in 2020, Desertfest is thrilled to announce desert rock pioneers Masters of Reality for the event. It will be the band’s first UK appearance in almost a decade. Masters of Reality is the brainchild of legendary producer Chris Goss (Welcome to Sky Valley, Rated R, Blues for The Red Sun, Dust, Songs for The Deaf). Their combination of hard-rock blues with a progressive tinge makes no apologies for not sticking within the stylised box listeners would expect, yet simultaneously provides the perfect lesson in the musical ethos and story-telling of the Palm Desert scene – all led by the man who laid its foundations.

Following an unforgettable performance at the New York edition of the Desertfest franchise a few months ago, industrial trailblazers Godflesh will return to London for a masterclass in sonic brutality. UK exclusive performances come in the form of Swedish doom masters Monolord, California stoner metal legends Acid King and the long-awaited return of Italian experimentalists Ufomammut.

Further Desert Rock royalty rolls into Camden Town, as Brant Bjork Trio will treat attendees to a back-catalogue few artists can compete with. Instrumental sound shifters Maserati, hard-hitting duo Mantar, introspective visionaries Cloakroom and heavy-psych rockers Monkey3 will take the concept of genres and set them ablaze.

Elsewhere the likes of Blanket, Domkraft, Pijn, Sugar Horse, Stinking Lizaveta and Darsombra will bring a captivating change of pace to the event. Whilst the stoner rock vibes remain alive and well with Astroqueen, Wet Cactus, Sergeant Thunderhoof and Duskwood.

If that wasn’t enough to get your teeth into, Desertfest rounds of its first announcement with Goblinsmoker, Clouds Taste Satanic, Warpstormer, Sonic Taboo & Wizdoom.

WARGASM TO CELEBRATE NEW ALBUM AT THE BLACK HEART

This Friday (27th October), to celebrate the release of their new album Venom, WARGASM are making a return to The Black Heart!

The duo are going to be setting up shop in our bar from 12pm-6pm, signing copies of the new record, selling exclusive merch, and maybe even challenging you to show off your best Guitar Hero chops - so dust off the plastic instruments and get some practice in! We’re even putting the finishing touches on a delicious cocktail recipe that’ll be available all day!

And after that, we’ve got a massive sold-out TAILGUNNER show in the venue, followed by DJs in the bar til late. Hell of a way to welcome in the Halloween weekend.



ELDER - FREE ENTRY INTIMATE SHOW - TUES 15TH AUG

We’re entirely over the moon to have teamed up with Desertscene London to bring a very special FREE ENTRY intimate show
for the legendary Elder here at the Black Heart, London this Tuesday 15th August 2023.

Entry is on a first come first served basis and the wristband station will open from 6pm by the main entrance to the downstiars bar. In order to claim your free ticket you will need to collect a wristband from that time. Once they’re gone they’re gone. If you arrive before 6pm we ask you to queue respcetfully outside the Black Heart up the street inside the yellow line (you can buy a beer inside and take it out), but please be respectful of our neihgbours and mindful of traffic.

Venue doors themsleves will at 8pm. We will have lots of good grub serving from our in house kitchen from 5pm (all vegan) and tons of great beer to keep you entertained between getting your ticket and the show time.

We will also have limited amount of posters of the aweosome show artwork designed by SeventhBell Artwork available on the night.

”We are very excited to announce US band Monarch for our first ever in person Orange Jams event, co-hosted by, and at, the Black Heart Thursday 3rd of August.

Hailing from the San Diego / Encinitas / Ocenaide area, Monarch are one of many bands who have followed in the footsteps of the mighty Earthless and Astra and turned the area into a psychedelic haven for both bands and listeners, contributing to a scene that’s been making waves way blowing minds for nearly two decades.

They will be popping their transatlantic cherries and squeezing the first ever Oranges that will be turned into Orange Jam(s) this August when they take the stage at the Black Heart, before they hit Portugal and Sonic Blast, followed by a European tour with Earthless.

Mixing elements of classic rock, psychedelia, prog, jazz and improv jams, Monarch seemed like the perfect fit for our psychedelic summer extravaganza, and we can not wait to bring our Orange Jams concept from the screen to the stage and we for you to be there to joining us!”

The special Riff Fast sauce is avail on totz with LD's Ribz pieces cooked with smoked cheeze, griled chilli cob and fresh red chillies. The sauce is of course also avail on LD's signature wings too… (so that means on Wing Wednesday means that you can get those for only £1 a pop !)..
The best part about it all... it's all vegan.. aaaand.. the key ingredient of the Riff Fast sauce is none other that everyone's favourite - BUCKFAST !

LD’s Kitchen have been our in-house feeders for a number of months now (winning accolades galore) but this will be the very first time we've unleashed this BBQ menu and it'll be availbale on Bank Holiday Monday only from 12pm-6pm..

As well as this we have a gloriously filthy matinee show in the venue from 1.30pm-5.30pm ft the sludge / death / hardcore delights of MOLOCH / BURIAL ROT / HARROWED / LIQUID SH*T

(n.b. gig is in upstairs venue but you can traverse between the 2 floors once you have your show wristband).

Perpetual Flame Ministries is an art house founded in 2022 by Kristin Hayter (Lingua Ignota) & KW Campol (Vile Creature), after a successful launch including the announcement of their inaugural festival & musical releases, they are returning with their second major music event of the year with Perpetual Flame v.2. Taking place at Islington Assembly Hall in London, England on 13-14 October 2023, PFv.2 will feature the final performances worldwide of Lingua Ignota's current & back catalogue as well as performances from some of their favourite local & international artists, including Jo Quail, Ashenspire, HIDE, & KEN Mode. The culmination will be Sunday night's free to attend nu-metal karaoke hosted by Perpetual Flame's Gwarsenio Hall at the Black Heart, being put on in conjunction with & celebrating Old Empire's 10 year anniversary.
